Busy opening day was pretty successful for Russian youth team. The leader of men`s squad Sadi Ismailov had no problems in clashes with Florian Cnudde and Alexandru Manole losing only one set combined. Youngest competitor of the tournament Vladimir Sidorenko and Constantin Chernov won 2 out of 3 and also continues battle for the medals.

In women`s part of competition the dominant performance was showcased by Ekaterina Guseva, who lost only 2 sets in 2 matches. Maria Malanina took the hardest path to a second round advanced only on aggregate. Later in the evening Malanina bounce back in pair with Maria Tailakova. All-Russian duo outlasted Slovakian Tatiana Kukulkova and Natalia Grigelova in 5.
