Pucar, Jorgic prepare for a semifinal battle in Sochi

Third day of STAG 2017 European Championships brought a lot of surprises. The upset of the day belongs to Marek Badowski who outlasted No.1 seed Anton Kallberg (1-11, 7-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-5, 5-11). Polish player was close to the victory in second match of the day, but lost in 7 set thriller to German Qiu Dag, who will meet with Deni Kozul in the semis.

Another part of bracket belongs to two clear favorites. Dargo Jorgic crashed Rares Sipos and Martin Allegro on his way to semifinals, not losing a game. Tomislav Pucar wasn`t close to a perfect result but managed to escape long battles in both of his Saturday matches with Nandor Ecseki (4:1) and Killian Ort (4:2).

There are also will be no No. 1 seed in doubles competition. Russian duo of Saadi Ismailov and Konstantin Chernov lost in their quarterfinals match with Swedish Anton Kallberg and Simon Berglund despite having 2:0 lead during the action. Three other doubles who will fight for gold in Sochi will be Anders Lind/Alexander Valuch, Adam Szudi/Nandor Ecseki and Tomislav Pucar/Janos Majoros.
