Top seeds are doing very well in Sochi so far. Swedish Anton Kallberg was dominant in all three of his matches, losing only 2 games on his way to eightfinals. Group stage for another Top 3 seed Croatian Tomislav Pucar brought pretty much the same. Slovenian Darko Jorgic had problems only in clash with Polish Marek Badowski (4:3), but at the end of the day was also perfect in his group.

Women`s part of the competition suffered first big loss. Top 2 seed German Nina Mittelham was unable to continue her third match because of the injury and dropped out from the tournament. Her compatriot Chantal Mantz was involved in neck and neck race with Croatian Dorina Srebrnjak, but was able to advance from the second place in the Group C. Number one seed Adina Diaconu showcased great form in her performance, though it wasn`t flawless. Leader of Romanian team went full distance with Charlotte Carey and almost felt in the same trap with Ekaterina Guseva.
